Cato Institute trade scholar Daniel Ikenson points out that the Justice Department is forcing the tin mill company Arcelor-Mittal to sell off one of its mills “to preserver competition in the eastern U.S. tin mill market,” while the International Trade Commission continues to enforce antidumping provisions against Japan in the tin mill market, protecting Arcelor-Mittal from their main competition.  Similar situations are unfortunately quite common within the government.
